A Grateful Dead Tribute serving MD, DC, VA, WV and Furthur since 2002... Come join the party
When Amy was 10 years old, she mischievously found the stash of unwrapped Christmas gifts in her parent’s closet. She had asked for the 45 record called Nadia’s theme (written for her favorite gymnast idol, Nadia Comaneci), and there it was. Amy took it and carefully played it over and over for hours before returning it to the closet. Her parents were never the wiser (until now!). Clearly, music has been a life-long obsession.
Amy’s first Grateful Dead show was Deer Creek 1989. From that day on, she has been a devoted fan and student of all things Dead. The lyrics, the music, and the family have been major sources of inspiration, comfort, and fun! She’s grateful for every moment she has been able to share with friends, as a fan and performer. Amy currently sings regularly with a couple of other local bands: a JGB Tribute called Carnival Parade, and the Bob Weir Tribute, Gettin’ Weir’d. She has also had the privilege of singing on stage with The Ron Holloway Band. Amy has been studying lyrics all her life and is excited to be able to give voice to those lyrics with On The Bus.
When she is not actively performing, or otherwise participating in the music scene, she is busy working in the interior design field or painting abstract, balance-driven paintings. Amy focuses on living minimally and helps others to achieve the same clutter-free lifestyle of simplicity.
Just as symphony orchestras pay tribute to classical composers, Grateful Dead tribute bands around the globe help keep the spirit, vibe and community of the Dead alive and thriving... On the Bus has been paying tribute to the Dead since 2002 playing festivals, clubs, parties, benefits and weddings in DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Furthur! ~ On the Bus ~ Grateful Dead done right!
