A Grateful Dead Tribute serving MD, DC, VA, WV and Furthur since 2002... Come join the party
Kirk "Chief" Kubicek
Kirk “Chief” Kubicek, Sr. played the East Room of the White House in 1975 for Susan Ford’s Senior Prom as drummer with The Outerspace Band, a New England favorite from Maine to D.C about to complete its 50th Anniversary Year “on the road” playing mostly original music with some covers in the blues/roots/swing/jam band traditions. Chief began his life in music in the Chicago Suburbs, and has played with numerous other acts on the East Coast throughout the years. After almost two years at the monthly Chief Ike’s Dead Jams he now is in his 5th year with On The Bus. Whenever possible, Kirk “KJ” Jr. joins Chief on stage for two-drummer Percussion Discussions. Chief has studied with Max Roach and Alan Dawson. Influences include Levon Helm, Billy Kreutzmann, Micky Hart, Ed Thigpen, Ringo Starr and Keith Moon.
